Rensselaer Ninth Annual National Manufacturing Day

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Manufacturing Innovation Learning Lab (MILL), RPI School of Engineering - Educational Outreach Department, and Multimedia Services are co-presenting the Ninth Annual National Manufacturing Day for 2020. The Ninth Annual National Manufacturing Day (NMD) will be a virtual event to take place during a two-week window, Monday, October 26 through Friday, November 6, 2020. Rensselaer will be offering a unique opportunity for high school students and educators to take a virtual field trip to a local manufacturer’s facility. The tour will be a close-up view of the many different facets of a successful manufacturing company including the engineering, ingenuity, designing, problem-solving, and the importance of a highly skilled team of employees. Participants will be invited to review the virtual tour during set days/times and consider answering assigned questions related to the manufacturing firm. The participants are also invited to ask questions online prior to a culminating panel discussion with industry leaders, and engineering undergraduate students. We could never make this program available without the additional support of our industrial and educational partners: Simmons Machine Tool, Ross Valve, Ross Precision Machining, Industrial Tool & Die, the Manufacturing Innovative Learning Lab (MILL) and RPI undergraduate engineering students.
