MFG Day 2026 Friday, October 2

Manufacturing Day is more than a single day on the calendar.

It is a national grassroots movement, and you are part of it.

Each year, manufacturers and their partners across the country open their doors to students, educators, parents and community members to show what modern manufacturing really looks like. Plant tours, hands-on activities, career conversations, classroom visits and community events are changing the way a new generation sees our industry.

Celebrated annually on the first Friday in October with events continuing throughout the month and beyond, MFG Day has grown into one of the most visible workforce development movements in the country. This year, we are building on that momentum in exciting new ways.

What requirements does your event need to meet in order to be an official MFG Day event?

We want as many organizations as possible to feel empowered to participate, and we believe the most important thing is not the size, format or timing of your event—it is the intent behind it.

An event qualifies as an official MFG Day event if it is designed to do one or more of the following:

  • Expand awareness of modern manufacturing careers among any audience
  • Positively shift perceptions of the manufacturing industry
  • Inspire individuals of any age or background to explore manufacturing as a career path

MFG Day belongs to everyone who believes in the future of American manufacturing, and every effort to advance that mission is part of the movement. There is no required date, no minimum attendance and no formal registration process. Events are welcome year-round, though many hosts choose to align with the spirit of the fall season when manufacturing career awareness is at its highest nationally.

National Visibility Matters

Manufacturing’s workforce challenge is a national one, and solving it requires a national story. When you share your event publicly, you are not just telling your local community what you did—you are adding your voice to a movement that grows more powerful with every event it includes.

Help us tell the full story of MFG Day by sharing your event in one of the following ways:

  • Post about your event on social media using #MFGDay26
  • Publish an article or blog post that includes “Manufacturing Day” or “MFG Day”
  • Share photos, videos or recaps across your organization’s channels

Policymakers, media, educators and business leaders pay attention to scale, and the more comprehensively we can demonstrate the breadth of this movement, the stronger the case for manufacturing careers becomes at every level.

No effort is too small to matter, and no community is too remote to count.
