Waltco-Hiab: Plant Tour

One hour plant tours will highlight application of Lean Manufacturing principles in the overall layout and cell design of our assembly operations. Waltco is the leading manufacturer of liftgates in North America. Based in Ohio since the early 1970’s, Waltco is a part of Hiab (www.hiab.com) - the world's leading provider of on-road load handling equipment, intelligent services, smart and connected solutions. The vast majority of truck mounted forklifts in North America are made by Moffett – a sister brand of Waltco, based in Ireland. Recognizing the potential of the Streetsboro facility, Hiab recently announced that the Ohio plant would begin producing Moffetts. With full implementation to be complete by mid-2022, units built in Ireland are already being completed at the plant, and prepared for shipment to customers.
