SCMWDP (Stark County Manufacturing Workforce Development Partnership)
The Stark County Manfacturing Workforce Developemnt Partnership plans and coordinates an all-county field trip opportunity offered to all high school students. Our goal is a minimum of 300 students representing all 17 public school systems in our county will participate along with a minimum of 17 local manufacturers.
Each student will tour a minimum of 2 pre-determined manufacturing plants. Employers are asked to hold a group activity and highlight the many career pathways in manufacturing on their tours. Career pathways include production, logistics, engineering, quality, safety, accounting, communications and everything in-between. Employers provide lunch and of course provide hand-outs for the students. Each company will host 2 groups of students consisting of 20-40 students in each group. The goal is to demonstrate there is place in manufacturing for everyone and there are opportunities for viable career pathways in our community with local companies in manufacturing.
This is our 4th year for this highly successful and anticipated event!
