Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center

Coordinated by the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center (MMTC), along with Northwest Education Services and Networks Northwest/Michigan Works, this year’s Manufacturing Day event in Traverse City connects 130 eighth-grade students from four area middle schools with eight local manufacturers. Students from Traverse City West Middle School, Traverse City East Middle School, Grand Traverse Academy, and The Greenspire School will tour two different facilities, giving them a first-hand look at modern manufacturing careers, technologies, and processes. Participating manufacturers include TentCraft, Thompson Surgical Instruments, Strata Design, Bay Motor Products, Great Lakes Stainless, Great Lakes Potato Chips, Skilled Manufacturing Inc., and TC Millworks.
