Brunswick Community College

The day begins with students arriving at GCM at 9:00 AM. They are organized into three groups, greeted by the MFG Committee, given an introduction to Manufacturing Day and the company, and provided with safety glasses. Students then tour GCM in their groups, with tours lasting approximately 45–55 minutes. Following the tours, students travel to Brunswick Community College’s Bolivia Campus. After being escorted into the Virginia Williamson Event Center and welcomed by the committee, students enjoy lunch, followed by opening remarks and a Lunch & Learn session. After lunch, students are introduced to the Integrated Machine Technology Lab, where hands-on demonstrations are led by instructors, current students and get to speak and meet manufacturing plant managers. This experience highlights real-world machining processes and showcases potential career pathways in advanced manufacturing.
