Pembina and Walsh County JDAs

There are more than 20 manufacturers in Walsh and Pembina Counties employing approximately 1,000 people, we want our student to understand the role these manufactures have in our local economy and that these are potential career paths. 9 manufacturers from Pembina and Walsh Counties are opening their doors for 7th grade students from schools around the counties for the 2024 MFG Day event, now in its 7th year. To date, 10 school districts are expected to participate with an estimated 221 students. This event has involved between 165-240 7th grade students annually, depending on availability of manufacturers. Students will visit at least two manufacturers and will be provided an opportunity to tour the facilities and hear from an ambassador about careers in manufacturing. The event is dedicated to giving students a hands-on opportunity to learn about the creators in our region. There are great careers in our area and the goal is to expose young people to those opportunities and perhaps inspire the next generation of manufacturers.
