Dear Faculty and Administrators,
On October 4, 2024, we are celebrating Manufacturing Day (MFG Day), an annual event designed to showcase the modern manufacturing industry and inspire the next generation of creators. We invite you and your students to join us for engaging exhibits, interactive demonstrations, and networking hosted by global-leading MSC Industrial Supply Co. and held at the University of Tennessee’s impressive new Machine Tool Research Center at TN MADE.
WHAT: 2024 Manufacturing Day Event for East TN High School Students
WHERE: University of Tennessee Manufacturing and Design Enterprise
(TN MADE), 2030 Valley Vista Rd., Knoxville, TN.
WHEN: Friday, October 4, 2024.
Session 1 (9:00 AM to 11:30 AM) Session 2 (12:30 PM to 3:00 PM)
Manufacturing is an evolving field where creativity, technology and problem-solving come together. By attending our MFG Day event, students can:
Explore interactive vendor booths featuring cutting-edge manufacturing technologies, products, and services.
Immerse in UT student-led demonstrations on robotics, machining, additive manufacturing, and metrology.
Connect with educators, industry professionals, and peers to uplift our community and empower future generations of manufacturing leaders.
Last year’s event was a huge success but this year’s event promises to be even better. We will be giving out four special door prizes per session, as well as providing drinks, snacks, and other take home gifts from the UT and the many suppliers and partners in attendance.
We're excited about the opportunity to introduce high school students to the diverse, rewarding careers in our industry. We would be delighted to host your students in either our morning or afternoon session, and for larger groups, we can help with transportation by organizing busses to the event.
If you're interested, please reach out to me at [email protected] or (352) 318-3325 for more information or to confirm your attendance. Best, Chris Schmitz, Lecturer, University of Tennessee-Oak Ridge Innovation Institute
