Women of Aerospace Industry Association of Michigan: Michigan Girls Future Flight Challenge

Rochester, MI
10.14.23 - 11.04.23
Virtual Event
WAIAM's second annual Michigan Girls Future Flight Challenge is a virtual, state-wide aerospace competition for girls in 4th-8th grade with the mission to create a unique, sustainable way of flight to solve a problem of the team's choosing.

This event involves a Kick-Off on October 14th where you will meet mentors and learn more about the virtual competition, 3 weeks of group work, and virtual final presentations on November 4th.

This project involves critical thinking in the areas of engineering, marketing & design, and business planning & sales. Each group will be paired with female mentors currently working in the aerospace industry. The teams will schedule meetings with their mentors to get questions answered, receive feedback, and learn about jobs in the aerospace industry.

WAIAM is excited to continue the Michigan Girls Future Flight Challenge in 2023 and to foster mentor relationships between young girls and women in aerospace in Michigan.
