SEMCA (Southeast Michigan Community Alliance): Wayne County MFG Day 2023

Wayne County of Michigan is gearing up to host Manufacturing Day 2023 facility tours and post-secondary institution visits on October 5, 2023! We are inviting manufacturing companies in the area to celebrate MFG Day by hosting in-person tours for middle and high school students from over 33 school districts in the county. The students will tour the manufacturing facilities in the morning and visit post-secondary institutions/technical education centers in the afternoon. There will also be an educational virtual platform offered to all Wayne County schools that allow teachers to assign pre- and post-event curriculum assignments focusing on different careers in manufacturing. Our goal is to expose students to modern manufacturing careers, to engage in hands-on experiences and learn more about the skills and education needed for a manufacturing career path.
