Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce: MFG Day in Fort Scott, Kansas
In recognition of National Manufacturing Day (MFG Day), the Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce will host an event for area schools and the general public on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.
MFG Day will showcase the variety of manufacturing, technical education and career opportunities available in Bourbon County. FSCC and several local manufacturers will offer on-site tours of their facilities. Closed toe shoes are required during the tours, and safety glasses will be provided. Long jeans or pants are also recommended.
The day of the event, registered attendees should check in between 8:00 and 8:30am at the Bourbon County Fairgrounds Pavilion, 2102 S. Huntington (across from Fort Scott Community College). During this time a grab-and-go breakfast will be served and tours of FSCC Welding and John Deere programs will be available until 8:45am, adjacent to the pavilion. Attendees will then tour three manufacturers which will be pre-assigned at 9:00am, 10:00am, and 11:00am. Manufacturers offering tours include the following companies: Labconco, Niece Products, Peerless Products, and Timken (more may be added as confirmed). Lunch will be provided back at the fairgrounds pavilion following the tours and the FSCC facilities will be available again for touring until 1pm.

Those attending as part of a school class or group should be registered by a teacher or faculty member all as one group.
