We are delighted to announce that our Broome County manufacturing companies will open their doors for in-person student and administrator tours. Manufacturing is at the heart of some of the most impactful work done in our area; we look forward to shining a spotlight on manufacturing careers and to help showcase the importance of the work that is done by the manufacturing companies and the positive impact they have within our region.
We will be conducting the tours for 9th and 12th graders from various school districts, and will be expanding the timeframe from mid-October through mid-November to make it easier for companies to participate. We will be hosting a press conference on MFG Day, 10/6, to provide an overview of the effort and all participating companies that would be welcome to attend.
Our goal is to foster awareness of manufacturing as a viable and rewarding career path and to help bridge the talent gap with the area’s skilled workforce needs.
This effort is in partnership with New Energy New York (NENY), SUNY Broome, The Agency, Greater Binghamton Chamber, Broome-Tioga Workforce, AMT, BOCES, various area high schools, and more!
