America Makes/Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition: MFG Day 2023
Friday, October 6th at America Makes, in partnership with the Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition, will host students and educators from Warren City Schools. The day will begin at 9 am and end at 1 pm.
The purpose of the day is to host students for a hands-on, impactful, and immersive experience where they will learn about the Engineering Design Cycle and will work in teams to design a product. The project includes a budget for tools, expert time, and other resources they’ll need along the way.
Students will create a prototype and present to their peers and local manufacturers. Manufacturers will share their experiences with product design including sharing examples of an actual prototype, sketches and blueprints of something they manufacture, virtual tours, and more.
Later in the day, students will have the opportunity to meet with manufacturers and participate in manufacturing-related hands-on activities. There, they will have the opportunity to learn more about local manufactures and have 1:1 conversations with industry leaders.
