Lawrence County Economic Growth Council: Manufacturing Week

Our goals for Manufacturing Week are to 1) increase awareness of what manufacturing is, 2) share the importance it has in our community, region, and state, and 3) identify and explore potential careers in the manufacturing sector and 4) collaborate with industry and educational partners. To meet these goals a series of events and activities are planned and implemented throughout the week of October 3-7, 2022. A strong emphasis for students in grades 8th-12th will be placed on using the skills of critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication. - Career awareness programming - Industrial and biopharmaceutical manufacturing projects - Visit to Digital Fabrication Lab to learn about microelectronics and emphasize the role of automatic and robotics within manufacturing - On-site visits to local manufacturing facilities - Virtual tour video of manufacturing facility - Design challenges
