Dickinson Area Economic Development Alliance: Heavy Metal Tours MFG DAY 2021

Heavy Metal Tours MFG Day 2021 is an in-person event on Friday, October 1 for 9th grade students in the Dickinson County MI area. Education, community and industry partners come together to host a Manufacturing Day event at Bay College West Campus (Bay West) as a part of the “Heavy Metal Tours” campaign. www.heavymetaltours.com The purpose of this campaign is to proactively educate students and the community about the skilled trades and technical career opportunities that exist locally. Manufacturing Day will include 300 freshman students from Dickinson County schools. Students participate in a series of hands-on activities presented by area companies including, Lake Shore Systems, BOSS Snowplow, Systems Control, Loadmaster, CCI Systems, Verso and Grede, with the goal of helping students connect the skills they learn in the classroom to future career opportunities.
