The Shelby County MFG Day event includes manufacturing facility tours for more than 100 students from high schools throughout Shelby County. Several companies within the Shelby County manufacturing community will host the students throughout the day. The manufacturing facility tours provide opportunities for students to see real-world, modern manufacturing, and learn about STEM career opportunities in manufacturing and the education requirements to prepare for those careers. The event is coordinated by the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Project IMPaCT Director of Community Engagement / EMERGE Coordinator in partnership with Shelby County Development Corporation. All participants must wear closed-toe shoes for the industrial tours.
