Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CCAM): MFG Day 2022
CCAM will host 150 students for an MFG Day event on Friday October 7th as part of a national effort to showcase the reality of modern manufacturing careers and connect with America's future workforce - students.
CCAM will open its doors for to students, parents and community members to experience first-hand the high-tech and innovative work environments that await those who pursue careers in modern manufacturing.

10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Manufacturing Careers: with speakers from Industry role models and mentors
12:00 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. Lunch and Education Networking (with Industries, Universities, and 2 year degrees)
12:45 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Hands-on Robotics & Automation Demos

WHO: Students from Prince George High School, Dinwiddie High School, Chesterfield Technical Center, Mecklenburg County High Schools, Central VA FAME, Southside Virginia Community College, Southern Higher Education Center, Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia Tech, University of Virginia, and Virginia State University, parents and counselors.
WHY: There is an increasing demand for highly skilled professionals in the manufacturing sector who can design, program and operate technology. Over the next decade, manufacturers will need to fill 4.6 million jobs. Organized by The Manufacturing Institute - the education and workforce partner of the National Association of Manufacturers - MFG Day is designed to introduce young people and others in the community to the thriving manufacturing industry to change perceptions of manufacturing and highlight the high-tech and innovative companies that are solving tomorrow's challenges today.
